Prevention is always better (and cheaper) than cure. See what a cardiac check-up investigates and at what age it becomes essential.
What is a cardiac check-up?
It is a preventive evaluation that combines a detailed conversation about your habits and history, a clinical examination, and — when indicated — additional tests such as electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, and stress tests.
From what age?
As a general rule, annual evaluation is recommended from the age of 40. But anyone with a family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or elevated cholesterol should start earlier.
What do we gain from it?
Identifying risk factors before they cause damage. A well-done check-up allows early action — adjusting habits and, if necessary, starting treatment — and drastically reduces the risk of serious events.
